Radirondack
the Story
I thought it would be fun to try to design a modern version of the adirondack chair. It has been a work in progress. So far I have come up with 3 different prototypes. The first prototype had a seat that was too long so it was not comfortable on the backside of your legs, right behind the knee. The second design fit much nicer, however I didn’t like the fact that some of the screw heads were exposed. On the third one I found a way to hide all the screws. The only exposed hardware is where the backrest adjusts. I am very happy with how it came out. I think in the next round I will make some more minor tweaks so it can lay completely flat. Just have to find a way to kick in those front legs. I have a few ideas. Also, I think it would be fun to make a chair out of Kebony or some other kind of super sustainable wood.
