Chef's Kitchen

Chef’s Kitchen

the Story

The clients wanted to do an update to their kitchen and make it modern. This one was a bit intimidating because the kitchen remodel was for a famous Master Chef. It was great working with these clients because they knew the exact layout of how the kitchen should be functionally. It was our job to make it look good. We used lots of walnut and mixed it with white cabinets. We were worried about the tile walls breaking the budget, but we ended up finding a tile from Home Depot that was a screaming deal. The tile really helped tie the whole thing together. The clients wanted a small TV in the dining nook, so we came up with a built-in that integrated the TV in a fun way. We learned the clients used the back door (the one that opens into the kitchen) as their main entry, so we gave them a landing pad for mail, shoes and shopping bags. We included pullout cabinet storage in a tight corner for storing cleaning supplies. We also added a little built-in bar that tied to the rest of the house. The house is actually an architectural significant house from the 1930’s and I think we did a good job blending this updated kitchen with the rest of the house.
