Modern Cabin

Modern Cabin

the Story

This project was located in Lake Tahoe, NV. The site was minutes from the lake and backed-up to the state forest. It was a beautiful site. We broke the house into 3 sections. One section was the guest wing. The guest wing had 3 bedrooms with a small living room where guests could get some quiet time and not feel like they were in the way of the homeowners. The cool things about the guest wing was it could be closed off so it would not need to be heated when no one was using the space. The middle section was the entertainment area with a kitchen, large dining table, and living room. It opened up onto a large deck that looked right into the forest. The entry wing had the master bedroom, office, garage and utility spaces. The sections were then connected by bridges; one was a windowed entry and the other was a fun bar area. The clients were really into cars so the garage design included a car lift. This was a perfect house for entertaining family and friends, because who doesn’t want to visit Lake Tahoe?
